For your own use
Grey area drinking and drug use
Grey area use is the space between “it’s fine” and “it’s not.” If your drinking or drug use sits somewhere in that space, counseling can help you sort out where you stand without a label attached.
What grey area use means
You're functioning, maybe even doing well on paper, but something about how much or how often you're using doesn't sit right. Maybe it's the third glass most nights, cocaine on weekends, the weed you need to fall asleep, or pills that started as a prescription. That's worth looking at, and you don't have to hit bottom first.
No label and no requirement to quit
A lot of people stay away from counseling because they think the first thing they'll be told is that they have to quit. That's not how this works. We look at what you're using, how it fits into your life, and what you want, and we go from there. That approach is called harm reduction, and it's part of how I work with everyone.
If you're cutting back, or thinking about it
Maybe you've noticed you're drinking more than you used to, or relying on something to sleep, relax, or get through the day. You might want to cut back, take a break, or just understand your use better. All of that is something we can work on.
What stays private
Sessions are private pay, so nothing goes to an insurance company or shows up on a family plan. You decide who knows you're here.
